Art Devlin had 3 base hits and 3 RBI as the NY (AL) 1905 Giants topped the
N.Y. (AL) 1950 Yankees by a score of 5 to 2 at the ballpark.
 
NY (AL) 1905 came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning with 3 runs
using 5 hits.  Frank Bowerman led off and he slapped a base-hit.  Roger
Bresnahan stepped up next and he grounded into a double play.  Billy Gilbert
then lined a single.  Dan McGann stepped in and he delivered a single, and an
error was also committed.  Devlin stepped into the box and hit a single
driving home two runs.  Sammy Strang kept the rally going and tripled scoring
the final run of the inning.  Christy Mathewson was perfect in relief and got
the save, his 2nd.  
 
The victory was credited to Joe McGinnity(7-3) who went 8 innings, allowing 2
runs. Whitey Ford(2-2) took the loss in relief.  He surrendered 4 hits and no
walks in 2 and 2/3 innings.
